If you want to know about record-breaking facts and achievements, I bet the first place you would look for them, would be in the Guinness Book of World Records. Since its inception, in 1955, the Guinness Book of World Records has been a source of ‘entertainment and inspiration’ for many.
Here are some fun facts I learned about the Records:
- Guinness World Records is the universally recognized authority on record-breaking achievement
- The annual Guinness World Records book is the best-selling copyrighted title of all time
- One of the world’s best known brands with 98% prompted recall in English speaking world
I also learned that record breakers come in many forms from—the hottest chili, the tallest dog, the oldest gymnast to the most McDonald’s Big Macs consumed. I just have to share a little more information about the previous record holder…the consumer of Big Macs is an American by the name of Donald A. Gorske. Gorske ate his 26,000th Big Mac on October 11, 2012. Wait there’s more…this was his 40th year of eating Big Macs—on a daily basis. Can you imagine?
And, now…I’m pleased to blog that JGK has become part of record-breaking history! On June 10th, we were given formal notice from Guinness, that a Guinness World Record had been successfully established in the category: ‘largest parade of electric cars.’ This was an event we were involved in with Branche-Vous; it took place on April 18th of this year, in Montreal and involved a parade of 241 electric cars.

By the way…we broke the previous record which was set in Denmark, 2014 with 160 electric cars! Very exciting indeed! I’ve included some pictures so you can see an ‘event record’ in the making.
I would like to say the achievement of such an accomplishment is shared with many partners; from those who drove the vehicles in the parade to: Nissan, Chevrolet, RoulezÉlectrique.com, Quebec Tesla Club, the Quebec EV Association (AVEQ), the RAVÉ, Communauto and the City of Montreal. Extended partners include: Branchez-Vous, the Electric Circuit, the Government of Québec, the City of Montreal, the automakers Nissan, Chevrolet and Ford (and their dealers: Nissan Gabriel Group, H. Grégoire Chomedey Nissan, Metro Nissan, Nissan Spinelli Pointe-Claire, Park Avenue Nissan, Bourgeois Chevrolet Décarie Gravel / Île-des-Sœurs, Brossard Mitsubishi and BMW Laval), the CAA-Quebec AddÉnergie , the Quebec Association Against Air Pollution (AQLPA), Car Rental EEKO Logic, RoulezÉlectrique.com, Intact Insurance, Schneider Electric.
It’s not every day that an event gets into the Guinness Book of World Records and certainly when one peruses through all the record breaker’s accomplishments, there’s some incredible feats in there. Here’s the link to ours.
